Help Incredible touch sensor beyond the display?

Hello, I was just messing around with my Incredible and I noticed when I drag the slider down to unlock the phone, if you do it slowly, you can pull it down until your finger is totally off the screen and in the black and the touch sensor is still picking up your finger! Give it a shot and let me know your results!

Mine too. It makes sense though, seeing as how the four main buttons are part of the touch screen.
