Incredible vs Droid 2

Unless you are willing to run LauncherPro+ on the Droid 2 Global, the Incredible is the better phone simply based on UI. You can downplay the importance of Sense over Blur, but considering your UI is a major part of the phone, it is an important factor.

The Droid 2 Global is pretty beastly. It feels well made, but it is also heavy and bulky. This wouldn't stop me from getting one, but the Incredible is far sleeker.

I've read numerous call quality issues on both phones, but no one I know with an Incredible or Doid 2 Global has experienced this.

For personal use, the Incredible is the better phone, in my opinion, because its slower processor notwithstanding, its stock UI feels much faster and is far, far superior. I have used my Incredible side-to-side with a D2G, and this is first hand experience. Blur lags, Sense doesn't. With LP+, however, the D2G probably gets the nod for speed. The Incredible has no moving parts, so it's less likely to have hardware issues (although my power button has been causing me a headache after 8 months of use).

For business reasons, the D2G is probably the better phone. The physical keyboard, both a great addition and a liability, is simply easier to type on than a touchscreen keyboard. The battery life does not appear to be any better than my Incredible's, but you do have the global functionality and some other business-oriented features like editing MS Office files out of the box (I think).

Honestly, I've used both devices quite a bit and own an Incredible, and I wouldn't be disappointed if I was forced to use either of the two for my personal/business purposes.

Pardon the random rambling. In short, UI and Form Factor go to the Incredible, Build Quality and Speed (if you ditch Blur) go the Droid 2 Global. The rest is likely a toss up. Overall, nothing stands out so much unless you need Global or would never use the physical keyboard or LP+ as a reason you must get one over the other.

Its so funny how when the newest phone comes out its THE BEST PHONE EVER! Ever type of phone is gonna have flaws no matter what hype of faster, bigger, perfect! They are all the same! You will NEVER have the perfect phone even though they do get close to it!

i have the D2G because i will need it when i travel out of the US. i do have an issue with the slide out keyboard. i hardly use it because of swype and the physical keyboard actually slows me down. but other than that, i love my phone. i have no experience with the incredible however, so i couldn't comment. to each his own! peace! ^_^

My DInc has been perfect since rollout day! No speaker problems, shotty communication, memory issues, etc. It has been PERFECT!

"Pretty poor quality"? That's your opinion. Opinions are like navels; everybody has one.

And like navels, some are perfect and some are distorted and funny looking (i.e. bad build quality).

It happens with every phone out there. If you think you have a bad build quality, return it and replace it. Or, use the warranty to keep getting it repaired/replaced.

They are definitely not all the same. There's no reason to even debate it. Some phone manufacturers, like any other industry, consistently have quality issues. However, not every phone from said manufacturer will be a dud.

On a personal level, I've had nothing but problems with Motorola phones while my uncle, a Verizon sales manager, swears by them.

I think this really comes down to whether or not you want a physical keyboard. I have a DInc (mine has been fine - no build issues) and my wife has a D2.

When I used my DInc as my primary work phone, I missed a physical keyboard. No matter what I used, I was not at fast or comfortable using the the virtual keyboard as that from my BB. The keyboard on the D2 is average - it does not come close to a BB keyboard in my opinion. Say what you want about RIM, but they know how to make keyboards. Now that I don't use my DInc for work, I could care less about the lack of a keyboard.

My wife wanted a physical keyboard, hence her getting the D2. Screens are comparable. Personally I prefer Sense to MotoBlur, but my wife has no preference. Both are fast, and are very good phones.

In the end, I think this decision gets made with the keyboard, and for that reason only. You cannot go wrong with either phone.
