Wow! I ordered online about an hour ago and just got shipment notification!

Anyhow, I have the X now and have been so on the fence. I got the X on the 16th, so I still have a little time left in my WFG. I love the X and I love the size, but not to carry around. Yesterday, I took my sons to the park and wanted to keep my phone to take pictures of them. I ended up having to hold it most of the time, which was a pain while chasing two little ones. (Small girl pockets!)

So I'm excited to get the Incredible, but I'm a little nervous about a few things.

Number one (of course!) the battery. I don't want to have to be as battery obsessive as I was memory obsessive with my BB.

Two, direct sunlight. Is it as impossible to see the phone outdoors as I've been reading?

Three, well, I'm hoping I can read the screen after having the X! :D

Welcome and good choice!!!!!

1. After a battery break-in period (i.e. after you stop playing with every feature your phone has) your phone will be fine!

2. turn the brightness all the way up and the phone will be ok in direct sunlight not as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

3. The screen is plenty big unless you have bad eyes, and then I would reccomend the Jitterbug ;)

Thanks!

I had the Droid, and played with the Incredible a bit in the store. I think it'll be just fine. My husband has the X, so I'm hoping I don't get screen envy. If so, I'm sure there will be a "latest and greatest" out in February when I'm due for my annual.

LOL

1) get the seidio 1750. Regardless of what anyone says, my personal experience and the vast majority of people using it report siginificant improvement over stock. Yesterday I went from 7AM to 11pm and was at 30% with the 1750 and I have two POP accounts polling every 5, i do a lot of texting, blue tooth, etc and even have a battery widget running. It really does get better with every use.

2) Turn the brightness all the way up and its just fine outdoors

3) Its plenty big

mine will be here tomorrow as well, i had the droid x and it started not receiving calls at all, decided to go back with the incredible due to size issue. big screen was great but its a little big to clip on or put in my pocket, looking forward to trying out sense ui and my first htc device i had a droid before all this, wweeeeeeeee

As an advocate for ethical business practices, I have to strongly urge you to NOT buy the Seidio 1750. It has been proven that it is only a 1500 mah battery by others and myself (not 1750 mah).

You can get the same battery for $15-$25 while Seidio charges $49.

This is what I got and my battery life is fantastic:

Amazon.com: HTC Standard 1500mAh Lithium Battery for HTC Snap S521, S522, T-Mobile Dash 3G and HTC Hero GSM version: Cell Phones & Service

regardless of what you are others have tested, there are more than enough accounts, including my personal usage, that it is a great improvement over the stock. Additionally, I got mine for $30 on amazon, and plenty of people have documented the seidio lasts longer that the battery you are pointing out.

I don't think there is a question of a larger battery getting better usage than the stock. I believe that the issue is the ethics of the business practices. Someone removed the cover on the Seidio battery and found it was not actually a 1750 but something less. They then tested and came out with values below that stated and there was no explanation from the company. I think they are over $40 these days and that price just doesn't warrant purchase, IMO.
