Individual Text Tones

Does anyone know if are there any smart phones which allow you to use just one tone for a favourtie person/wife, which is for texts AND calls?
i.e. One tone one person.
I'm sure my old Motorola Rzor used to let me do this

I'm not sure any device has this feature but I'm certain you can find an android app that will do this for you. The beauty of Android is the amount of third party apps that enhance the users experience. Welcome to the forums.

There are numerous ways to define a single ringtone for each entry in your contact list. If you want to use the same ringtone for multiple services you will likely need to define each separately.

With some phones this can be defined within the default "People" and SMS apps. The caveat here is that the phone has to recognize the file as a ringtone before you can define this. Typically this can be done if you temporarily define the file as a global ringtone first.

Another way to do this is through a third party app from the Android Market. There are numerous available such as:
