inductive charging back

I placed an order today for an inductive charging back plate from Verizon.

Does anyone know what mat I can use to charge the thing?
Can I buy a power mat or an energizer mat and have it be compatible?

FYI - I spoke to verizon and the CSR told me that verizon has a power mat but it's listed under LG phones.

No word on if other mat's will work.

I heard somewhere the energizer mat should work. Not sure where I heard it but I believe it was discussed the power mat wouldn't, conflicting technologies or something.

The charging mat has to meet the Qi standard. The only one I know of is the energizer one.

Hi James, the Energizer Inductive Charger is compatible with the HTC Thunderbolt as long as you have the inductive back plate. Both are based on the Qi (chee) wireless charging standard.

As the Qi standard becomes more widely adopted, we will likely start to see the technology built into phones, making inductive back plates unnecessary.

You can find it at Best Buy, Amazon, Target and Home Depot.

I have the LG wcp-700 mat and you need to lay it flat on the mat for it to work.

I have not tried it with a cover on I have the 2 piece one I'll give it a shot and report back

kinda a deal breaker for me, but I kinda expected it. Now they need to come out with mats that have a slope built in so the phone can be tilted when in use.

I keep forgetting to grab my case so I improvised and tested on a stack of dvd's.
I was able to get it to charge through a stack of 6 dvd's not sure how effective it is at that distance but I don't think any case you may have will be aprox .375" thick.
So you should be good.
