Help indulge volume really low?

So ived had my indulge for over a week now and I've been noticing that the max volume is lol. I even tested it against my android lg with the same video and the lg was louder. Is my phone defective or is the volume just low? Thx in advanced.

I noticed today that my phone's volume was kind of low as well while I was at work...
Although weird thing is I was using it yesterday and the volume was waaaaaaay higher, i swear!
The indulge right now is just surprising all of us every day...

Yes, the volume on this is lower than most other phones. Turning on the speakphone on my Samsung Code or even dialing numbers with volume turned all the way up sounded like an air raid compared to the Indulge. I'm sure there's probably some app or setting (probably requiring root) that could get the speaker to go to a higher volume than what's currently considered highest

The volume is a bit low.
Speakerphone isn't quite loud enough for a moving car IMO. Poweramp's preamp will raise the volume suitably for music.
Notice how the slots in the cover are way smaller than the speaker under them?
I've considered taking my dremel tool to the cover to expose more of the speaker. I'm not real confident I could do it very neatly. Maybe a few holes with a hot pin......I don't know.
Seems like if you could expose that 50% of the speaker that's covered, you'd have 50% higher volume.

EDIT After looking again, it's a LOT more than 50% of the speaker that's covered.

OK, After studying this sit-chee-ation, I don't think that would help. If you look close, the cover isn't touching the speaker. I had the backround sounds for Angry birds playing and put my ear around the phone. The sound comes from around the cover as well as from the speaker. I'm guessing it's like a folding speaker that expands, the open space between the cover and the interior acts like an amplifier of sorts.
Put your ear against as it makes sound, you'll see what I mean. Also, I didnt notice any difference in volume with the cover off.
