Root Infinite Bootloop with a twist

I'm sorry if I came off fiesty Aggie, I'm not at all. I'm very disgruntled about the situation I have put myself in, and am very happy and thankful that so many people have taken the time to post replies. Don't think I'm throwing a temper tantrum because I think I'm not getting the help I need - I'm getting much more help than I thought I'd receive and I'm extremely appreciative for it.

The reason I'm hot-headed at myself right now is because I was messing with my phone the night before I start on Monday with my new promotion... which requires extensive phone use - both calling and navigation. And I have to be at work at 9, and Verizon opens at 9. Lol. I posted on Facebook hoping for someone to have a DX.

So as soon as I get a fully charged battery let me go through the steps I need to take to make sure I'm right.

- Bootloader
- RSD Lite with .340 SBF
- Hope to God the battery works

Get your battery charged to at least 80%, install RSDlite onto your pc(4.9 is the latest version out), connect your DX to the pc. RSDlite should automatically find your phone. Load the SBF file and click start.

RSDlite and the SBF file you are gonna need can both be had at the link I gave you above. The only way for it to be any easier is having someone do it for you.

I totally understand your frustration. I've been there before. It was just a friendly reminder. That really sucks though. If I really needed it I think I would sacrifice my usb cable to do the battery charge hack. And then buy one at a store tomorrow to replace it.

bouchigo posted this a while back in another thread. He found it among the interwebs. It worked for that guy. Specific thread conce3rning the matter here

1. Take your cable and cut off one of the ends, leaving a standard USB plug at the opposite end to plug into your computer.

2. Now you need to strip about an inch of the wire off until you get to the core where you should see 4 colored wires (red, black, white, and green). The colors don't really matter and they may vary, just as long as you can see a red wire and a black wire.

3. Strip off about a quarter inch of the rubber sleeving on the red and black cables, exposing the actual metal wire.

4. Twist the metal strands of each of the wires a couple of times so that all of the strands from
the black cable are together and all of the strands from the red cable are together. This is just
to make sure that you don't create a short circuit.

5. Here's where it gets a little tricky. You are going to use this cable to make the phone think the battery is fully charged, when in fact you will just be powering the phone using the power from the USB port. Pull out the battery on your phone and find the 4 exposed metal slots (the battery terminals).

6. The terminals on the far right and far left should be labeled with a plus (+) or a minus (-) on the battery. What you need to do is put the exposed lead of the red wire up to the positive terminal and the lead of the black wire up to the negative terminal. Re-insert the battery to hold the wires in place against the terminals.

I never ended up actually trying this. The black and red kept touching and tape just wasn't cutting it. I figured it's better to wait than to really mess the thing up. And actually my brother had a spare so he let me cut it - maybe i can figure out if it has any use from now on.
