I have a Moto Droid that is forced 2.1 onto. My friend at work has the samsung moment, is there anyway to get the 2.1 update for his phone. How would it be installed Root or Flash through recovery?
Not yet. The Moment 2.1 is different than the Droid 2.1 and we really cant do much until it is released. Over on SDX, they are trying but its hard because they have to frankenstein it with pieces from similar yet different phones.
The gist is that it has to do a little with drivers and the RIL that samsung isn't giving is much info on.
