I have been searching for this for quite sometime now but have come up with nothing. Is it possible to create an infrastructure wifi tether with my thunderbolt for my Toshiba thrive which does not accept ad hoc. I have tried wifi tether app and set device to thunderbolt and setup type to master (as I saw suggested somewhere) and the tablet cannot obtain an ip any ideas?

i have no clue how to answer your question. is this a Thrive problem or is this a tether app problem?
FWIW, i use my thunderbolt to tether to my touchpad (running ICS, gingerbread, or webOS) using open garden wifi tether. never had an issue, never had to make any special settings tweaks.
again, not sure if that will help ya, but its worth a shot and better than no advice at all.
