Im having an issue with the microphone on my Infuse and recording audio. If I use an app like voice search, the microphone works well and 100% of the time. The problem however is that when Im using the video recorder / camera app, the microphone doesnt pick up audio sometimes, or If it does, itll start recording OK and then turn into static / white noise. Some apps cant even hear the microphone at all. Apps like SoundHound can hear the microphone perfectly sometimes, and then other times when I launch the app they dont register any sound from the mic at all. I dont believe this is a hardware issue as phone calls always work perfectly, and Voice Search can always hear the mic. Rebooting the phone does nothing at all. It seems to be a totally random issue.
