Help infuse update

YOU GUYS WANT GINGERBREAD?...Do you know HOW many infuse owners are running gingerbread? probably thousands!!!

Stop sitting around here waiting for the update. Screw AT&T they will never update the infuse and you all know that. Maybe the update will come an era from now, but the point is you can have 2.3.3 GingerBread right this moment!!!

steps:
1.root your infuse with modded 3e recovery..all that prelim stuff
2.get infused2.1 ROM

done!

Ofcourse, my instructions are the vaguest possible. If anyone is interested in getting gingerbread from a completely stock phone, post your response here and i would be glad to make a comprehensive step-by-step guide (making sure you dont screw up your phone in the process. no guarantees, it can happen, it can be fixed).

Hello and thank you. I will getting a stock Samsung Infuse later this week and am very interested in putting gingerbread on it. An "Idiot's Guide" would be appreciated!

Head to xda, it is all there. Just do not make stupid comments there lol.

I was one of the people who put off trying a custom ROM for the longest time because I didn't trust my tech skills and I also wanted to wait for the official update. I got fed up woth it a few weeks ago thougj and followed the xda instructions for Infused and it was super easy. I admit that for someone who's only vaguely familiar with the lingo, it was scary, but it worked perfectly and it wasn't difficult.

With that said, as nice as the Infused is, I don't notice any major improvements in my ise of the phone, other than the pretty S2 wallpapers and themes. I honestly think if you are at the point where you are daily obsessing over the Gingerbread update and feel like it's consuming your time, just get the Infused ROM so that you stop doing that. However, if you can be satisfied by people already with Gingerbread telling you that there honestly isn't a big difference, just wait for it. The improvements are minor and while pleasing, will not immensely change the way you use your phone.

I say this because now I'm at the point where if there is an update, I need to go back using Odin which to me is a more daunting task than going to Infused was :/

...or you easily could just flash a custom rom for it. Infused, just saying is not much of a power upgrade from 2.2, where as other roms provide more.

Yea, some of the other ROMs definitely seemed pretty cool, but the whole reason I went with flashing a ROM was only because I was obsessing over Gingerbread. I know the other ROMs provide a totally different user experience, but I settled for the Infused because it's the closest I can get to using a stock Gingerbread Infuse 4G.

Custom gingerbread roms are unstable. I've been using either serendipity or infused for the past couple of months. I always lose internet connectivity while leaving the phone on for 48 hours. You don't see it in the bars. Mine always show a strong connection, but when i go to a website i get the no network connection error. It usually happens after work where I have little or 3/4g network signal. Then when i'm outside with full bars, i have to reboot the phone to get internet back. So, its pretty annoying. You need a stock rom to work with, the custom roms are ok, but they're definitely nowhere near stock gingerbread quality. Once a gingerbread stock rom is released, then I'd recommend going with a custom rom. Then hopefully the network issue will be resolved along with all the video not working and bluetooth issues that plague current custom gingerbread roms.

Whow your problems are pretty much one of a kind. I had a little of that, and just added an apn and fixed that. Did you apply that? I would show you how just forgot though and my phone is bricked anyway :(

Switched from mosaic 8 to the zeus, now 5.2 ans stable as can be. Been running it for 6 weeks, and now official GB is out. But i am still on Zeus!
