Input on syncing

Currently I have auto-sync checked and under my gmail account I have calendar, contacts, and gmail 'checked' to sync.

Does this have a big effect on battery?

Or should I just uncheck calendar and contacts and only sync those manually?

Mm it those have effect but not noticible enough i think if you add contacts contestly then you should leave it on, sync from google gets push everytime you update something so it won't affect your battery as much so it saves battery compare to htc mail

GTalk is really what uses the battery there. I use Contacts and Calendar sync with the fastest sync settings, and I still get ridiculous amounts of idle time (7 hours = 10% used just last night, on wifi).
