AT&T confirms the Inspire 4G does not feature HSUPA | Android Central
I wouldn't be surprised if someone decides to start a class action.

This has nothing to do with 4G all Android phones have been disabled hspua its been like that for a while. The only phone that had that enabled was iPhone this is nothing new
... this is nothing new
You mean HSUPA?
This has nothing to do with 4G all Android phones have been disabled hspua its been like that for a while. The only phone that had that enabled was iPhone this is nothing new
But the point is what is the point of 4G if it is slower than 3G on certain phones. Most people are probably upgrading to 4G phones simply for the improved speeds but it's like a bait n switch since they aren't getting it and in fact are in most cases probably getting worse service.
The reality is 99 percent of people will only use or.notice.the download speeds. Not many users will look at upload. When the dowmload speeds jump in a month to HSPA+ levels no one is really gonna care about the upload. Plus I believe once all the backhaul is up the hsupa will be opened

Go tell Android Central. They apparently thought is was news!
The Inspire 4G is the first "4g" phone released by AT&T and it is most certainly news that HSUPA is disabled. Don't worry Andrea, it's not a knock on the phone itself, it's a knock on AT&T's ongoing data policies.
