Is there a way to have the stock keyboard show predictive text, but not auto-correct as you type. I have "prediction" on but "spell correction" off. It still auto changes my words.

I dont know its a bit frustrating I downloaded a few keyboards and they installed and everything but they never come up. Anyone else having this problem?

Have you long-pressed in a text for the TEXT INPUT menu to appear? Thats usually how it can be changed.

Its a bit different than what I was use to on the Captivate.

I'm not sure if you can change one but not the other and have it work. Have you tried just tapping the word you want when moving on? In the lower left, it always shows what your typing and to the right it has suggestions or what it thinks you want. Tap your word and move on, that's what I do. You can also long press that same word and it will save it in your dictionary for you.

I downloaded the Gingerbread 2.3 free keyboard. So far, so good. Almost identical to the Froyo Android Keyboard. Exactly what I wanted.
