Inspire Party Application question

Hi.
I know that AT&T wont let you have third party apps, but if i unlock the phone, and run it on t mobile, will third party apps work?

And also, do i need to root the phone for it to open third party apps?

Att does allow 3rd party apps now. There was an update that was pushed unlocking this feature. Some people didn't get it but from what I have read you have 2 options you can call att speak with tech support to get them to push the update to your phone. Or use the temporary root method to enable unknown sources
