Inspire to get HSUPA software upgrade?

wow this got quite a few posts since i was gone! lol
i'm just hoping to see some significant improvement in upload speeds.
and although i'm getting decent download numbers (3.00+ on 3G)
i can't wait to see what kind of speeds i'll get if AT&T decides to rollout HSPA+ to my area.

Engadget is now reporting the FCC filing for the hsupa switch so its gonna come.sooner rather than later

In the end when this update arrives, which I'm gonna say is by April 1st everyone will have it without root etc

That's kind of my game plan right now - put off rooting until we get that update, and maybe until Gingerbread arrives via OTA update. In the meantime, I'm content to use the Sense UI, because I acually *like* the way it looks and acts.

Have you tried that ADW honeycomb theme from the Market? It's really pretty and, if you get the paid version, it's very complete. That being said, it slowed my Inspire down to a *crawl* - a SUPER slowdown - so I removed it from my system.

Really ? I have no slowness at all and have two themes the nexus S and honeycomb plus 4 live wallpapers to go with the themes

Very cool I don't have enough time to do the gold card or man I would be all over this. Damn unrevoked hurry up

Use Bubby's one click root program. I will probably be doing it tomorrow. You can find it on xda forums in Android Development for the Inspire.

I agree, but dont let this be the only reason why you root your phone! I was getting 2.3mbps dl and 1.0 mbps ul when I first rooted, running CM7 RC2, changed the radio and changed the build.prop file and now am getting 4.2mbps dl and 1.5 mbps ul. The other advantages to rooting is you can have honeycomb.

I tried one of the CM7 nightlies, didn't care for it. I don't like the stock dialer at all, mainly the reason why I went back to something with Sense.

Running Gingerbread with Sense now, and it's pretty sweet. Dilligaf's froyo ROM is probably the fastest out there, running 2200 on quadrant without being overclocked. Stock is 1600-1700.

I have never tried a nightlies. My quadrant is 2094 stock speed. I pushed it to 1.5 and ran one the other day and it was 3202. But quardrants dont meean much I guess. I have mine underclocked to save on battery.

The Sense Dialer is what makes the phone great. Typing in a name and using the number pad and the contact coming up is just a great feature.

Like I said above, Dilligaf's Froyo Rom will pull over 2200 on a 1ghz kernel. He said the new Rom he is working on, due out any day, will pull a 2700.

Might have to go check that out. On XDA right? In android or Inspire threads?
