Install Android applications

Dear All

Kindly let me know if an Android application can be installed in Samsung galaxy S2 which is not supported by carrier. I live in South korea and my carrier is a Korean telecom. I am unable to download the applications saying not supported by carrier. Kindly explain.

Welcome to the AndroidForums, prince.dina :).

Well, it kind of sounds like what many ATT users have experienced here in the states that you can't download and/or install apps from outside of the Android Market.

There are a few alternatives...check out the Sideload Wonder Machine:

Sideload Wonder Machine: Unofficially Install .APK Files on your HTC Aria the Easy Way

which should allow you to install apps from your Windows PC from outside of the Android Market.

It probably uses the methodology as the Android SDK's "adb install" command. I could give you mean details, but its a little more involved. You can find the details here: Android SDK | Android Developers

You can also visit your phone's home forum here in case you have additional questions:

Cheers and good luck!
