Install ChromeOS (desktop) to Android Smartphone?

I want to wipe Android off my smartphone, and install ChromeOS instead.

Possible?
it does not work that way. first you would have to root the phone. and not all phones are rootable. second chrome os is made for chrome book pc's. it is not made for mobile phones. so you would not be able to make phone calls or text and such. you would need a dev to make a chrome os custom rom which i do not think there exist one.

why do you want chrome os on your phone? what phone do you have?

Well in general you can't, but there are occasional exceptions, e.g. there are a small number of Sony devices you can install Jolla's Sailfish OS on (which is a descendant of MeeGo rather than Android), or Ubuntu Touch which has a longer list of supported phones, but mostly older devices.

You can have a go at building such things yourself, e.g. Jolla make resources available if you want to try to build a version for another device. But there will be a learning curve before you can try this.

Excellent answer! Informative and thx for not making assumptions about my intelligence.
