Root Install update.zip via fastboot?

Hi,

Can I install an update.zip for a samsung phone using fastboot. the update.zip is to root the phone and normally I'd install it through the recovery menu using the 'Install from .zip' option. I would like to do it without needing an sd card.

Sorry, so far I never heard of fastboot for the SGA...you need a sdcard to place the update.zip and flash it in recovery...it is very easy...and later on you will need an sdcard for many functions in the SGA (music, camera etc)...so you should get a sdcard anyway...
