Root Installation Error: Unknown reason-18

lob

Android Enthusiast
I get this error quite often when trying to install apps from the market (Never from non-Market sources). I think it may have something to do with my ROM (MoDaCo r8) but the strange this is that it started happening after several months of full functionality for no apparent reason.

The apps that fail to install (The download works fine) are not viable in 'Manage applications' or in Uninstallers. However, they do have the 'Automatically install updates' check box viable in the market (Something which only appears with installed apps). Strangely, it is impossible to install these applications which have failed to install from non-Market sources.

What is going on?!

Thank you for your help. :D

Ok, to any one that cares;

I just flashed a new ROM and everything is lovely! :D

Alright found a fix. I hooked my phone up to my computer, browsed to .android_secure and deleted the file 'smdl2tmp1.asec'. Problem solved.
