Root Installind new 8gb SDcard, need to partition?

im running velocity 1.1. I got a new class 6 8gb card im installing. Im going to erase all data and already have my apps backed up externally via Titanium.

When I go to flash velocity 1.1 is there any need to partition the sdcard? i run 99% of my apps/games from the sdcard but never partitioned it before.
