Root installing android 2.2 keyboard cog 2.3b8

So im trying to install this keyboard but its saying not installed after i go thru the process do i need to install using sideload wonder machine or will it not work with this rom?

are you running cognition? if so sideloading is enabled and you dont need sideload wonder machine. and if you can find a .zip file with it you can install it using clockworkmod recovery

Na its only available thru .apk i think i need to unistall the existing keyboard but i cant thru the application manager the button to uninstall is ghosted out

And yea im running cog 2.3b8

here is the android 2.3 keyboard, you install it using clockworkmod recovery Guide: Install Android 2.3 Keyboard - BriefMobile

if there is a specific reason you want the 2.2 keyboard i can probably find it, installing it though .zip i find easier, when doing an apk you need to do something to the main keyboard i cant really remember what

Cool yea i guess i can look for it as a zip file or if u can find it faster that would b cool i jus like the older keyboard better i guess plus vibration on keypress is cool and ive grown attached to it

Eh forget it i was able to get vibrate on keypress by downloading the 2.3 gingerbread keyboard off the market then in advanced settings setting vib intensity to normal. Thx anyway for the help
