installing apps on SD card with Froyo

I just updated to Froyo and so far no problems. I cant figure out how to install apps to my SD card. I installed 10.1 adobe flash and it didn't ask me if I wanted it on my SD card. Do I need to turn on a setting to install apps on my SD card? Im new to the Android so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Flash is built in to FROYO.... You don't have to install it let alone place it on the SD card.

Oh I didnt know flash is installed with Froyo. I hope I didnt mess up anything by installing it again. I installed another app from the market and it didnt ask if I wanted it installed on my SD card. I thought this is a feature with Froyo. I guess I have to turn a setting for it. Please help me thanks.

You don't install them on the SD card initially. I was under the impression that they installed on the internal memory and then you cab choose to love them to the SD card, but I could be wrong. Also, some apps do not support being moved to the card yet.

You have to move the programs to the SD card manually.

Go to Menu--> Settings--> Applications--> Manage applications
Scroll down your list of installed apps, click on the one you want to move.
If it supports running from the SD card the "Move to SD card" button will be enabled. If not it will be grayed out. Like privraac said, some apps support running from the SD card and some don't. Its up to the app developer to write the code to allow the app to run from the SD card.

Very frustrating trying to figure this out. Im sure it should ask me when installing an app if I want it on the phone or SD card. It would kind a weird if app installs on phone mem then I have to move it to SD card. Anyone in the forum can can explain how or what I need to fix this issue.

U have to wait till the developers of the apps that won't move to sd card put out some sort of update to allow it to run off the sd. Not that hard to comprehend.

Not that hard to understand.... Thanks HTCeasar :-)

Froyo now supports running apps from the SD card. You have to install apps the way the developer writes the installation string (most often the phones internal memory) and then manually move it to the SD card under "Manage applications" (new for Android 2.2).

This may change in the future and eventually apps may ask where you want them to install.... Maybe Android 3.0?
