Installing CyanogenMod

I was a bit confused as to what to download because under the SG2 downloads there is update-cm-7.1.0-GalaxyS2-signed.zip which I assume is an update so I found the download page with loads of mods on and downloaded cm_galaxys2_full-88.zip. I guess I install that then the update?

CM7 7.1.0 is the current stable release. Install that one unless you're prepared to put up with possible bugs, as #88 is the most recent nightly build and isn't guaranteed 100% reliable. Use one or either, but not both.
