Help Installing ICS on the Acer Iconia Tab A500

It might be a lack of sufficient power being provided to the A500's USB port.

Your idea is something that had never even occurred to me. I use a G11 keyboard too, and I have my cordless mouse's Bluetooth dongle plugged into one of the G11's USB ports. I'll have to see if it might actually work plugged into the A500. Wouldn't you need a driver of some sort? I don't suppose any of my programmed macros could be utilized.

The G11 keyboard works very well! But I can't think of an Android app that might utilize a mouse? So I couldn't test trying to use the mouse. The tablet isn't stock ROM anymore, so I don't have the game mentioned above installed anymore.

I tested a Logitech cordless mouse with a USB Dongle in my A500. It worked with no problems. I have since purchased a Logitech bluetooth mouse, it works as well. The only problem is that I have not been able to find an application to control the size and color of the cursor. The cursor is very small and sometimes it is hard to find. I have not found an application that the mouse would not work in, but I don't play games.

No application is required. The cursor appears on the main screen (desk top?) and is usable from that point on and in any application I bring up. I use Boat Browser to surf the net, but the default browser works as well. Select with the left button (right handed) scroll with the center button. A right click backs up the screens.

I guess my mouse doesn't work for me then, with the dongle plugged into the G11, which is pretty much what you had said in the earlier post. Since the A500 only has a single USB port, I would have to try a hub I guess. But one way to try the mouse might be to just plug it into the tablet without the keyboard? So I tried that, and it DOES work! The mouse pointer is blue. On my tablet's wallpaper, which is a space image, it is hard to see, as you mentioned. But it definitely does work. So I wonder what the reason is that the G11's USB port won't allow the mouse to also work when the G11 is plugged into the tablet?

OK, I plugged my switchable USB Ultra Hub into the tablet, and moved the Bluetooth dongle from the G11 port to a port on the Ultra hub. Both the mouse dongle and G11 are switched over to use the Ultra hub input now coming from the A500 tablet, and both keyboard and mouse work.

Kinda makes me wish the Ultra hub had 3 inputs, but it only has two. (I have 2 PCs set up and use them both from the same console, as well as their both sharing some USB peripherals).
