Root Installing Rom on Flashed Device

I need a bit of info here, a friend of mine has the HTC Evo 4G but its flashed over to Boost. He would like me to put a new rom on it, but I am a little worried it may mess up the flash. Sorry if this question seems a bit noobish. The rom im planning to put on his phone is the Nitrous rom. Please let me know if this could mess up his phone.

I don't think you should have an issue flashing a rom

One problem you'll run into a lot is MMS not working.

Unfortunately, I have 0 experience beyond that with flashed phones.

I have flashed Decks Reloaded and Sense ROMs on mine and it's fine.
Like Rxpert said, you may have to adjust for MMS.

EDIT: Okay I found the link for you. It's a pretty comprehensive guide.
It breaks down each ROM type, and compatible ROMs and then there is a hidden comment telling you how to set up Mms for each ROM
