Root Installing stock rom with no usb cable/from sd card

Lex Angel

Lurker
Can't find the right answer elsewhere, so here goes. I need to return my Desire HD to stock (unbranded) UK to return it under warranty as the USB is not working, so I need to do it from the SD card, but I can't find an .img not an .exe/RUU to do it with. Is there one available? Thanks in advance.

I have read about extracting the ROM from the RUU .exe, but I can't get it to flash - says it's bad. Any ideas? Try re-transferring it to the SD card etc.

As the fault is clearly a hardware one, you would have thought that HTC would repair it under warrantee... have you tried speaking to them/your network carrier?

Have you tried stock 1.32 PD98IMG.zip ?

Those are guides for downgrading to root, but you should be able to get back to stock with the PD98IMG.zip. You know, your already rooted so it may be as simple as flashing the stock zip, but do your research, don't take my word for it... Good luck.
