Installing the OTA 2.1 file

Wow, the Verizon Wireless splash screen takes FOREVER!!

OH man, and now it's loading sense and taking forever!!

It says "Loading... It may take several minutes to complete, please wait."

The people that updated from 1.5 call yourself to see if the phone immediately rings or waits 3 seconds. i'm curious as that was the only issue i had with 2.1 before i found out how to set the delay to 1, (i forget the number i entered to get to that screen,.

also is there voice to text capabilities in text messaging

is the dial pad laggy

This is still a no go for the leakers. If HTC is aware we arent receiving the update because the version number can't they release an update that updates no matter what version your on just for us? I am a coder and to my understanding all they would need to do is remove the version check scripts.

well they are already mentioning several of the bugs I saw on the leaks...so I would imagine you'll probably get confirmation of this from those who upgraded successfully

on the exclamation point screen

Ok..can someone assist me..... I'm at this step.. [FONT=&quot]Press the POWER button and HOME soft button at the same time, and you should be presented with a menu. One of the options should be "Apply sdcard:update.zip". Choose that one.

htc doesnt have to do anything for any of us leakers....it is a risk you took going to a leaked os.

that siad, i am not too worried, the dev's, i hope, will figure something out.

There is no further information about 2.1, its completely ignored.

It still saids .zip

It's different for everyone. If you can see your file extensions in Windows, then you NEED to see update.zip

If you have your file extensions hidden in Windows, then you WON'T see the .zip.

In Windows 7, right click on Computer, goto Properties.
Then Tools, Folder Options, "View" tab, and uncheck the box that says "hide extensions for known file types".

That will show you all of your file extensions in the file name.

My problem was that I downloaded the file straight to my phone. It placed the update.zip file in a download folder instead of the top level. I got Astro and moved it to the top level and it is currently rebooting.

Some one please advise im at the exclamation screen home and power do nothing. obviously vol up and home work but it does the same thing. this is killing me cause ive never had a problem before.

It sounds like you're on a leaked 2.1?
If so, everyone that it's working for is on 1.5, I believe.

POWER + HOME work for 1.5
POWER + VOL UP work for 2.1
