Root Installing Theme Help

1) What ROM are you using?
2) What recovery are you using?
3) What theme are you flashing, and where did you get it from?
4) Have you ever flashed anything before? Are you sure you're doing it right (using a zip file, that you did not extract)?
5) Related to the above, are you on a custom ROM (you need to have a deodexed one)
 
That's ok, we'll get it up and running. First, though did you make a nandroid backup? If not, I'm afraid you won't be able to get data back unless you're running a custom ROM.

Also, can you answer the above questions? In addition to those, did you wipe cache/dalvik? If this was a ROM, did you wipe cache/dalvik/data?
 
Fresh,was on clockwork,made a backup before flashed with clockwork and rom manager,but it wouldnt let me so i flash over to ra recovery thru rom manager and tried to flash fresh but when it gets to the last step it aborts to. now i cant do anything. please help and thanks

You weren't able to make a backup or you weren't able to flash the rom using clockwork? Do you have a backup in either clockwork or RA?

What version of Clockwork did you have (if you remember), and where did you get it from? (e.g. Flashed from rom manager, flashed with unrevoked, etc.)

How old is your phone? You could have the different partitions that newer phones have, which could explain the problem.
 
yes i have backup with clockwork but dont know how to get clockwork since i flashed over to ra threw rom manager.

Flashed with unrevoked,the newest 3.0.2 i think.

Just rooted it lastnight with unrevoked. it was all up to date. But i did get clockwork backup two of them actually but how can i get clockwork back to be able to get these backups ive made? Thanks again for the help i was going nuts.
 
Thats my problem i dont know how to do the comand promts. I got all the stuff downloaded from that tread tho if you can help me just get started with the comand ?

Actually, all you need to do is find the one small section on fixing a broken recovery. Ignore the rest - you already have root.

Search that thread for "fix broken recovery". Download the PC36IMG_Recovery.zip file, then rename it to PC36IMG.zip. In recovery, select the option for USB-MS toggle while your phone is connected to your computer via usb. You should be able to view your sd card from your computer at that point. Copy the PC36IMG.zip file to the root of your sd card. Turn the phone off, the proceed with the rest of the instructions from step 2.
 
on the computer it i renamed it to what it said but when on the phone in recovery it said pc36img.zip.zip ? what did i do?
 
Ok it went threw that time but its still stuck on the white screen that says htc evo4g. What now go back into recovery?
 
Hey im sorry now when it starts up and starts going thru the setup it fcing says process com.htc.android htcsetupwizard has stopped. What should i do now?

Is that in a rom you just flashed? Did you wipe data/cache/dalvik?
