Instant Heart Rate

Ya your better off just checking your own heart rate but this app ranks up there with the useless but really cool apps.

Definitely cool, but also not sure about it's accuracy as it was telling me my resting heart rate was in the upper 50's. Something tells me that may be a little low?

this is an awesome app. so far so good and seems pretty accurate to me.

normal at around 80's and right before i sleep in the 50's

i dont understand how you guys are questioning it's accuracy. its pretty darn close.

let it stabilize and once you get a steady reading, take your own heart rate (old school 2 finger on wrist style). count for beat for 15 sec then x 4 to get beats/min.

see what you get

There are also bluetooth heart rate monitors. You have to buy hardware (the chest strap) but they work great when exercising. There are several apps that can use the ones from Zephyr called the HxM. They run $99 but each app developer has a coupon code that will give you $5 off. This also goes to support the individual app. The apps that I know of are:

Heart Rate Monitor (my app)
Endomondo
Sportstracklive
