For those interested in debranding, I installed Open Europe 2.1 using the instructions at MoDaCo and all branding is gone.
With a branded phone, I noticed that using the 2.1 upgrade from the LG UK website will leave the phone branding on the phone, but using the Open Europe 2.1 upgrade will remove it.
