Why can't you update? What's preventing you from doing so?
To check if there is an OTA (Over The Air) update available Menu > Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now.
However, the availability of OTAs depends on each individual network provider, or, if you have an unbranded phone, when HTC releases it according to your IMEI.
