Help "insufficient storage available", even though there is enough storage!

Hey,
I have been having problems downloading apps from Market - when finished downloading there's an error: "insufficient storage available" even though there is plenty storage left.
For example, most recently, I tried downloading Ringdroid which is 365 KB. My internal storage has 9.55 MB available and SD card has 14.85 MD available.

It seems every time i try to download apps bigger than 200 KB this happens.
Sometimes it works to restart the phone, but not always. Also sometimes it works to download it over and over again until it works... (I have tried downloading Ringdroid about 7 times now and always there is an error!!)

Does anyone know what the problem is?

It's a wildfire s

Thanx!

I have the same problem. It seems I need at least 20 MB free internal storage for it to let me install any apps from the market.

I have the same issue.

Can you give a step by step guide please? Where are the apps backed up to (SD card)? What happens to contacts etc, are they lost?

Had this same issue. Seems google's change from the "market" to "google play" is interfering with your available storage space. It may also be double charging you if your gmail is synced with your debit or credit card number. I had to dispute the charges do to this. This should not be legal? Hope my answer helps.
