"Insufficient storage available" when installing apps

I keep getting this message "Insufficient storage available" when I try to install apps. I can download the normally, as well as update them, but no matter which app, or how small it is, I can't get it installed.

It' a Moto G running Kit-Kat, the only thing I altered from the box is the Android version and a few apps (nothing major, just some games and utility apps). It also has over 400mb of storage available, so that's not the issue.

I also haven't had my phone rooted, so I'm prety sure that's out of the question, as is any apps that's supposed to fix my problem simply because I won't be able to install them.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Not sure if this is the problem but 400mb is a tiny amount that the phone probably wants to keep.
Have you tried uninstalling a big app like a game to see if that helps?

It's really not an issue.

The largest app I have is only 50mb and the ones I want to download are 1 to 5mb only. I really shouldn't be getting this message

Most phones dont let you completely fill the storage though, thats why i asked if youve experimented by deleting some stuff.
If it isnt a storage issue, maybe try "clear data" in the Play app?

I was at 250mb available, I cleaned it down to 400. I uninstalled a few more down to 550 and it's now working fine. Thanks!

I'd guess the amount would be roughly ~10%. My Optimus F3 has an internal storage of about 1.2gb, and I don't get that message until I get around 120-140mb left.

Not sure about the amount of storage the Moto G gets, but if its 4gb, it would make sense that it starts complaining at 400mb.
