The only partition I have learned from our device that would literally wreck you by a hard brick is the HBoot. You screw that up and your phone is paperweight. Seriously lol.

I know very little about your situation. I have read bits and pieces here and there. Send me a PM with the link to this thread. I may later on ask further questions, but out of interests, I would like to look in to it lol. Nothing with which I can promise you of course, but if this is a technical issue then it definitely needs to be noticed so it doesn't happen again to someone else.

This issue is aggravating, can't install 3-4 apps on a brand new one without it giving this error, or receive texts or emails. The phone was advertised with 8GB of internal storage, not <1  Is there no way to re-size the partitions or re-size the space apps use? Why is it split in 4GB/4GB?

Let me put it this way:

there is 3.85GB of App storage, most of which is being used by "other" which takes up 2.76GB, with no way of seeing what that is or how to remove it, my last HTC phone had only 1GB but at least it had all the room available to it to use. System apps only use 565MB, with 553 available to me right now after removing everything i installed myself. I have less than 1GB of free space to use? wtf?

Now under phone storage is different, it lists 4.15GB space with very little used, totaling 14.53 MB, why can't apps use that room? or anything else for that matter? My SD card is 30GB, I don't quite enjoy having to constantly keep moving apps around on and off my phone in order to use one thing.

My phone is Rooted w/S-OFF, anything I can try? The page about swapping SD card and internal storage wasn't in English so I'm lost with that.

Theirs a link I provided a couple of replies above. It's in English. I don't know what thread your looking at.

Yes I see it, I'll try that and get back to you.

Update: Ok, that made it worse, now I have 30 GB on phone storage, however, app storage is unavailable completely. :/

Try unmounting and then remounting sd card

Nope, still nothing, all swapped, just unchanged. Is there something that will swap my 30GB SD storage card with APP storage? In theory phone storage should = app storage no? Still unavailable with less than 1GB.

Some images what I have now:

My phone used to do that when I first flashed the zip. To be honest the problem fixed itself it just took a few reboots.

And about swapping app storage with SD storage. The zip simply swaps phone storage and SD storage that's different from app storage. Phone storage contains all the data needed to run applications and app storage is where your apps are installed to.

If I'm wrong someone please correct :D

I just ran into this insufficient storage issue myself. Couldn't install a 13mb app even though i have over 150mb free.

A Google search about the problem led to the suggestion of trying THIS APP to clear the caches of my apps.

I was skeptical that this would help, but to my surprise it solved the issue and cleared up another 100+mb of space.

this may only be a temp solution, (and ymmv) but it worked for me (for now)

Here's some screenshots of my storage. From what I can tell the only one that's that has a bug is the app storage usage bar. But I'm still able to install apps normally. :)

A program called Folder Mount helped a lot for me and lets you install apps to the SD card. It worked well when I had this device but you must be rooted.

Does my phone need to be rooted in order to run emulator and free up space? Anyway around that?
The only way to get more space is to be rooted. Once rooted you can remove bloteware and also swap sd with internal storage. There is also apps on the play store that will save apps on the external sd. As for the emulators it depends on what type of emulator your trying to use. For example if your using terminal emulator you will need root permission to perform certain actions

I've fixed the problem :) I'm still testing and streamlining... But what I'll say is if you don't have an external SD card I'd buy one :) and move any data on your internal to your external... My rom erases internal SD

If you dualboot the Rom then everything on the internal SD will still remain ;-)

mine died and wouldnt turn on or charge or ANYTHING after only 5 weeks of having it! cricket nor htc would do a thing cause i have a tiny crack on my screen up near the speaker. cricket said 'sorry your phones dead, we dont have technicians that could repair it so your only option is to buy a new phone or reactivate an old' <<< WHAAAT???..
i figured the usb port soldering cracked..
anyways
4.5 months later, it popped in my head to order an external charger. i got a universal charger (the contacts move and its adjustable to fit basically any size phone battery), i charged the battery in it for about 25 mins, put it in the phone and HIIIYYYAAA- phone booted up and right where i left off months ago!! and it charges fine with the usb chord.. like it never happened.
the battery was so dead it would charge via usb.
the charger was 5 bucks, a 5 dollar off coupon popped up, it actually took the price to 0! haha so i got better shipping....
but
it may be your problem as well.

This phone is crap i have a handful of downloaded apps and between the updates and whatnot I have run out of phone storage you know I bet apple phones dont have this problem. why is it that they cant give enough storage for apps on a phone its like they dont have the technology or what the heck it is.

using rom toolbox, open app manager
multi select all your user apps
hit menu (the overflow 3 dots)
hit move to sd

i went from 2 mb free to 517mb free.
hope it helps! :dalek:
