Every time I try to download an app or update my existing apps, I get the message "insufficient storage available". I have 1.8 GB of internal storage free, and 29 GB of SD card storage free. I have the default location set to SD card, but I also tried switching it to internal storage, and I still get the same error.
I have tried the usual "solutions" online (clearing the cache, clearing the google play history), then restarting the phone, and that didn't work.
I tried unmounting, then remounting the SD card, then restarting the phone, and that didn't work.
It's not an issue of not enough space, and I haven't found anything online that either applies to my situation (like not enough storage space), or that I haven't already tried. Most people say to clear your cache, which I have already tried, and it didn't work.
I thought about factory resetting my phone, but other users have said that that doesn't work. I also thought about formating the SD card and starting over, but I mentioned that to my brother (who is a computer whiz), and he said that won't work. I'm also doubting that it will work, because it obviously has nothing to do with the SD card, since every other app on it is working properly, and it has 29 GB free.
I also thought about rooting my phone, but I don't know if that will work in this situation.
Does anybody know if any solutions that actually work?
This is really frustrating.
