Insufficient storage message? Check Google+ app

BradR

Lurker
I was getting an "insufficient storage space" message when I was trying to update my apps. (Very important to update them because some are virus fixes.) I couldn't figure out why I was getting that message until I checked Google+. It had a whopping 298 MB of data I had to delete. The thing is I never use that app. After I deleted the data I disabled it.

I thought this might help someone in the future.

One should regularly use Cache cleaner to clear the garbage applications deposit on our phones. Cache cleaners are available free on play store.

I don't know what exactly is your phone? A USB storage is the external flash memory disk or an external hard drive connected to a smartphone via OTG cable. Not every smartphone is capable of this property.

^this. Or do you mean how to use the phone as a mass storage drive when you plug it into a pc?
I dont know much about computers either but i think that function was removed from android.
Whats the situation you need it for?

Think this thread is talking about two completely different things. The OP's problem is low internal memory free, which has got nothing to do with if a device has USB mass storage support or not. G+'s cache was using a lot internal storage space, which can happen if you don't keep a check on it. Things like G+, Facebook, WeChat, browsers, etc. can build quite a cache after using them for a while, and so might have to be cleared periodically especially on devices that don't have much free internal storage available. Other thing is some apps may start to lag when their cache is too large, WeChat is prone to that and it has to be reset and cleared occasionally.

I knew that. I responded to the other member putting another problem. But his problem is not very clear to me. I don't know why he put his query in this thread?
