Help Insufficient Storage Update

LGG3Owner

Lurker
Hello Im trying to update my LG G3 to 5.0 Lollipop but my phone say that it has "insufficient space available to download -609.9 MB". This is kind of frustrating because I go to storage this is the information given:

INTERNAL STORAGE
Total Space: 32GB

Available: 19.30GB
Apps: 4.19GB
Pictures, videos: 8.51 MB
Audio: 486MB
Downloads: 402MB
Misc.: 7.51

SD CARD
Total space: 1.84GB
Available: 1.28GB

As far as I know, this indicates that I have plenty of storage space. So whats going on with my phone? Anyone else having this issue or know how to fix it?

Thanks for you help.

I am having the same issue. My storage says I have plenty of space, 21.35gb of space, and still getting same error message

There a few possible solutions you can try. One is the clear the cache and data of the Play Store app in the applications manager. Is your phone rooted?

Tried clearing cache and data, got nothing. I have not rooted my phone, I only got the phone about a month ago and have not downloaded any root systems

Hmm, it looks like the most effective solutions need root access. Do you feel comfortable rooting your device?

Never rooted it before, but I don't see why not

Okay. Your G3, who is your service provider, what version of android and firmware is on your phone? You can find the software info in the main settings. Once you're there, tap on "About phone" an then tap "Software information". You should see "Android version" and "Software version". Those will have the software info we're looking for.

I have Sprint, android version 4.4.2 software version LS990ZV6

Okay. This seems to be the best method your G3: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/orig-development/root-stump-root-lg-g3-sprint-verizon-t2850906 . When your device is rooted(make sure the app supersu or something similar is installed if it isn't already), install the program InsuFixer from the playstore and run it(make sure to grant it super user access). It should help you identify and delete the problem files causing the "Insuficient storage" error.
