Help Insufficient Storage?

I think something is wrong with my phone, when I try to download an update to a installed app, I get a "Insufficient storage" error message. But not every single time.

I have plenty of internal RAM available, and well over 19 GB on the SD card free.

Is this a problem with my phone? I already replaced the CD card a week ago.
Should I just call Virgin?

Thanks for any insight.

First of all, I love Bucky O'Hare!!! - Blinky is where it's at ;)

Now for your issue. The ram is different than disk space. If you go into your settings and look at "storage". See how much internal memory it says you have there. Have you moved apps to your sd card to free up internal memory? Even if so, when downloading a new app, it goes to your internal memory by default, so if that is low, you can't install it.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the fast response, and yes Blinky was awesome!

I checked and it says I have 119 MB free for storage, and there are no apps that can be moved. I cleared the caches and got it to 166 MB, and the programs updated. THANKS!!

So, now the question begs, is 166 MB low? It seems low to me.

Thanks
Bucky

Hmmm that is definitely not low.... Not sure what the problem is there. Let it go for a bit and report back in if you catch another low error. Then we'll go from there!

Well, it is still throwing errors every now and then. Every time it does I check the storage and it is always above 119 MB. So not sure whats going on. Today there were like 8 updates being pushed from Google Play, 6 of them went with out a hitch, 2 of them were rather large updates, one said insufficient storage space, the other said invalid file. I tried them several times.

I have had no other problems with the phone.

Thanks for any thoughts...

I got this before, so I had to do some cleanup. I moved some apps to the sd card and removed apps I no longer use. That fixed my problem

I have tons of apps on mine with many moved to SD card where available, and my memory shows 629MB used 546MB free. I would say that yours is low. When you choose all apps and sort by size, which apps are taking the most space? Can you clear data on those?

Having an inbox full of text messages uses your phone's internal memory too.

^This. I clean out my messages daily. I have right now...820MB free internal, and around 4GB of external free. I think 3.9..but same thing.

If you need your messages saved the stock app has backup to your sd card built in, just select it under menu.
