Hey guys !
What is better than a bug report to start using a new forum
I bought the Galaxy Nexus in early January. I got it unlock by my operator (SFR, in France) to be able to use it with other operators'SIM card (Free Mobile, France). Everything was working well with my new SIM, until yesterday. I did not root my phone, the only unusual manipulation was the sim unlocking, which was made 100% normally and legally my the operator that sold the phone to me (SFR), like it was supposed to.
Yesterday, for a random reason (MMS configuration) I had to restart my GN. After booting, and asking me my PIN code as usual, I got the screen where the phone asks for the SIM Network Unlock code, like when I tried to use my new SIM (Free mobile) card in my GN before removing the simlock. I called SFR, who sold me the phone, again, and they gave me the code to remove the simlock again. This code does not work anymore, and I've seen people saying that even with rooted phone, and custom ROMs, they got the same problem.
The phone works normally when used with its native SFR SIM card though.
I have the feeling that it may be a problem specific to my french operator SFR, so i came here to ask you about that. Anyone have seen something similar ? I knew that formating or rooting smartphones may break the unsimlocking and force you tu remove the simlock again, but this is pretty different. On the french forums, few people say that their old unsimlocking code worked again, and other say it didn't. In my case the code isn't working anymore and SFR had to tell me they'll ask Samsung, and gave me a nice 4 weeks delay ...
Help me, my fellow Android buddies
Edit : I've found an international thread where people talk about it : http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1841505
