Help Intenet Browsing stops working intermittently

I'm using steel and it was doing it to me. Finally found a fix to keep it from happening. but u have to rooted. I am running z09.2 with zefies cl14 downloaded setcpu and set the minimum while awake to 400. It hasn't done it since.

I'm still getting this without steel and dolphin.. In fact, it's like a total radio lock-up. wifi, bluetooth, 1x/evdo all locked this morning. I had to pop the battery out to reset. I'm tempted to take it in, but I'm trying to wait until 2.1 and see if that resolves this radio lock issue.

This happens to me ALL THE TIME. Before and after the CL14. What I've done is put an airplane mode widget on the desktop so I can quickly turn airplane mode on and off, which logs off the net and then reconnects. Fixes the problem. I have to do this 2 or 3 times a day.

This happens to me several times a day since the update as well. Crappy thing for me is turning airplane mode on/off doesnt even help. I try to turn airplane mode on and it says it is on, but never displays the airplane icon. Then if I try to turn it back off, the button is grayed out and then im stuck inbetween. Tried an airplane widget too and that didnt help. The only way to fix it for me is to power the phone off and on. REALLY annoying.

i was trying all that and nothing worked except taking the battery out on mine. but now that i am using the setcpu (you can also use overclock) i haven't had it happen. been running one or the other for about 5 days now, with no more stoppages, except when i set my lower limit for awake below 400.

No, I have that update and it still does it.

Yesterday morning I attempted to do a profile update. It said "updating profile" and hung for a minute or 2, then said some sort of connection failure. Did this twice.

I have not had a single connection problem since I tried the update yesterday. Strange.

I get this issue like 3-4 times a day. I'll be streaming music and looking at online comics, say Explosm.net (Cyanide and Happyness). After 2 strips, it'll lock up. Then I notice my music stops after 10 seconds. I look, it says buffering.

Now here's the kicker, if I try to make a call, my phone locks up and just sticks at the 'Dialing' phase of the call. I can't exit out, and the recieving person will get a ring, and pick up, but to nobody. It's an 'empty' call. They can hang up, but my phone will continue to be stuck at 'dialing'. No voice will get through, and the phone seems to just die.

Another way for me to test if the phone is 'dead' without locking it up is to try to send a text message. It will always (100% chance) say 'failed to send message', regardless of how many times I try to patch through (I've gone up to 234 in sheer frustration one night). One thing I've noticed though, it'll happen whenever, I.E. when I have 6 bars of signal, or when I have 3. Something else that's weird is this: it shows the phone trying to receive data, but it's not getting any; only sending out.

This could be a c-c-c-combo breaker for me and force me to swap for the.... *cringing* Hero.... >,.,>

I really don't want to resort to a world that's out of the Moment. I love everything about this phone, and I hate everything that's wrong with it.

Oh, I also should say I have the 'official' update.

Foodman...I had the same exact problem as you. At first I had to reboot the phone to fix it. But then I realized all I needed to do was disconnect then reconnect to the net. Easiest way to do this is to go into airplane mode, and then go back. There are a bunch of free widgets that will let you quickly switch back and forth with one click.

Also try updating your profile. That seemed to have fixed my problem.

wow...even after the cl-14 update there is still so many issues with this phone. Thank you all for your input. i really do appreciate it. I will just have to live with out a physical keyboard and get a hero or see if sprint will come out with the nexus one soon. thank u all again.

Neither worked for me. Reboot always does.

Same thing for me, when it locks up, it LOCKS UP; even tighter than a new in-mates arse at a penitentiary.
A reboot or a battery yank always seems to fix it, though it's happened 6 times today...

It's very annoying.

Oh, to boot, I let someone use my phone today in class, simply because they were bugging everyone around them asking if their phone had internet or facebook access, because they NEEDED to update their profile... *so glad I don't do that crap*. I offered up my phone for use to shut them up, sure enough a radio lockout happened. They sat there for a minute and said it's too slow. They then took my friends Blackberry Storm and loaded it right away, like mine should have done. I was then continually reminded throughout the rest of my class by the facebook junky and my friend that they still think I have a crappy phone.

Just little moments (pun) like that kinda make me sad.... if only Numus would work faster.... *hint hint hint*

Yes the story is true, no I still love my phone. No, I don't care what they think, this was mainly aimed at Numus in a very weak attempt to get him really booking' on some more updates. No I have not flashed, yes I will, when I feel the time is right and enough has been done.
