Interactive 4G rollout map.

I did a little research and found this website which shows current data deployment. I knew that they were planning on rolling out 4G in our area, but never have seen my phone switch to 4G while out and about.

So, with this info in hand, I checked my phone while driving the wife to work and we do indeed have 4G just has shown in the map. The sad thing is it stops about 300 feet from my house ;). I find this good to know they are working on pushing it out.

I am providing a screen shot of the tests I ran. Test 1 and 5 are 3G and tests 2, 3 and 4 are where it said 4G on my phone. Note, upload speeds are less than impressive in 4G.

The coverage map on the VM website is nowhere close to what this site say's. So I am guessing that unless it's on the VM site it's still in a pre roll out state and not considered official.

I was in the same position earlier this summer - after a little testing I found 4G just up the block from me, and the next block over (up hill from my place). Now I do get it at my house, but due to terrain it's only "fair" reception. My speeds average 5 Mbps down/3 Mbps up - not stellar but very usable. A couple of blocks over in more open terrain, I see 15 - 20 Mbps up/7 - 9 Mbps down.

This is an area that shows as "official" LTE on the VMUSA map - I would guess that you'll see much better results as your location is officially live as well. Once you know it's that close, it starts feeling like treasure-hunting to see that icon switch to 4G in your house

Also - have you checked Sensorly to see what 4G has been mapped in your area? If you download the app, you can also add to the mapping as LTE rolls out for you.
