Interesting discovery about the screen

So i had to exchange my Triumph because of USB port issues. I dealt with it for months as long as I could but i finally gave it. During my workday i tend to wear sunglasses, polarized ones. My work issued iPad's screen disappears if i tilt my head wearing these glasses, something im aware of with polarized glasses and LCDs. Except on my Triumph it didnt do this. If i looked at my screen with these glasses on, the colors were just all weird looking and thats about it. After i exchanged my triumph, i went to use my new phone after i just parked and i was wearing my sunglasses again. Looked at the screen and no distorted colors. Tilted my head and poof, screen looked black. My immediate thought was "well isnt that something..."

I have heard of the different screens on triumph, something about a blue tint or not. I wonder if this has anything to do with it or what this really means as far as the old screen vs. the new screen. Just thought id share.

LCD screens use a polarizer to get the light into something we can see.

there is a mod that you can do on MOST lcds which is to take the polarizing layer off the lcd, make it into lenses in a pair of glasses, and the screen will appear completely white to anyone whos not wearing the special glasses.

pretty cool mod

anyways, if it does it on one triumph and not on another, that definately means they changed the screens manufacturing process.

on mine, polarizing lenses (movie theatre 3D glasses) give the screen a rainbow look, also, i have no blue tint.
