Interesting thing about Locations

[Lefthand]

I was playing around with a friend's brand new Sensation and I noticed it had a different version of Sense running, with much richer graphics than my Desire S. Locations also looked better, more similar to Google Maps, and it also performed better, less juddery and smoother. I wonder why that is, I though both phones run the same software? Surely the Desire could be upgraded?

The Sensation has a dual core 1.2GHz processor and a qHD screen, so graphics and apps will look and run smoother and faster.

Sense 3.0 can run on a Desire S quite happily. There are some custom ROMS with it on and a couple of YouTube vids showing it working. Whether or not HTC will provide the update to the Desire S is another question.

HTC's Places has superceded Locations. It's like Google, but where you can download whole countries for free to use offline. This is what you probably saw on your friend's phone.
