Intermittent dialing fault

birkward

Newbie
Hi there, over the past 10days or so I have been having an intermittent problem with dialing out on my HTC Desire. I can receive calls but sometimes the only way I can get to dial out is by rebooting the phone first which is a real pain in the proverbial. Any ideas? Apps spring to mind first but I have not added any new ones just updated Google Maps, Doggcatcher and McAfee Security. Has anyone had problems with any of these? Thanks in advance for any replies!! :)

When you say you cant get it to dial out, could you please be a bit more specific about the point of failure?

Well if I try either speed dial or selecting a person to call, when I press the "call" button nothing happens. Sometimes the screen just goes blank. When I try to dial nothing happens when I press the numbers. When it gets to that stage the phone seems to get it's knickers in a twist and it's a bit like my computer have a mental breakdown.

No but have just gone there at your suggestion however I get a message saying "all of the applications data will be deleted permenantly. This includes files, settings, accounts databases and so on". Do I really want to be doing that?

It doesnt delete anything you need. It doesnt store any contacts or anything. Shouldnt even effect call logs (think thats in dialler storage) but back up your call logs if youre concerned.
