Help Internal memory for S3 galaxy mini

Hi. Just got myself an S3 galaxy mini. It was offered with an 8GB internal memory however, when I checked the total space available it was only 4.54GB. May I ask any of you guys if this is what you noticed in your S3 galaxy minis? And where has the balance of the internal memory been allocated. Thanks.

It is normal. Nothing to worry. I also faced the same. One of my friend's S3's 16gb is showing 11.2gb. I believe, all the software installed consume the memory.
