Internal memory - Where is it?

Hi

I have a Woxter DX 80 - Android 4.2.2 - with 8GB of internal memory.
When I look on storage I see less than 8GB

For example:

Internal storage=1.97GB
SDCARD=3.98GB

This is without the external card inserted.

Can anyone please explain to me where the rest of the memory is, if it exists? I can't post the screen shots.

Thanks

Charlie

1.97GB is storage for installing Apps.
3.98GB is storage for saving your stuff.
About 2GB storage are taken by the OS and by the stock apps.

One more point.

So the 2GB is used for the OS etc. Seems quite a lot to me.
Shouldn't that 2GB at least show in the settings or is it hidden?
I ask because I can't see in the settings/memory any data that adds up to 8GB

Never saw space of OS explicitly shown on phone or tablet.
Bloatware apps and these system apps which are shown in Settings > Apps > All > ... you'll find as occupied space on the storage for installing apps.
