Help Internal Phone Storage Problem

Hello, I am running 2.2 on the Dinc and my phone came with 8gb internal phone storage and whenever I install apps it seems my phone memory gets used up, why is this? I want to have it on my internal phone storage because none of it has been used up and I use my SD card for music. Help is appreciated! Thank you

The 8gb internal storage can not be used for apps unless you root. The 8 gb (6.6 useable) is for music/photos/documents. You have about 700 mb(partition of the 8gb internal) useable for apps plus whatever apps you can move to the sd card.

Android can only install apps to two locations; internal storage or SD. While many apps can be moved to the SD, important files remain internally.

The way HTC formatted their ROM makes the remaining 6.7GB not accessible to apps unless specifically coded for it. They can't be installed there. I believe there is a way to set up an SD-EXT partition on it to force them, but then we're talking more advanced than just rooting your phone.

Best bet is to just install the app, and then move to SD.
