Root [International] A good KitKat ROM for i9300?

There is no TW KitKat ROM for the i9300. The only one I came across was a port from the american version, and it's not even stable enough compared to the AOSP ROMs available for our phone. Is there a reason you don't want to go the AOSP route? SlimKat is pretty much stable, I had no issues with it.

I actually like Touch Wiz that's the main reason. But I guess I gotta go down the AOSP route. Can you recommend a good Vanilla ROM (4.4) with very little bugs. Thanks
 
I used to run TW ROMs cos of the better camera, and multi window and something else I forgot lol. But AOSP has moved on a lot and I don't miss TW at all, although camera still wasn't doing it for me so I bought Snap HDR instead. Currently running LiquidSmooth 3.0 official with Boeffla omnirom kernel cos I like the config tweaks. Enough customisation for me, stable and good performance. Validus is also good, but try a few and see what does it for you. Now I'm a convert, trust me TW seems so bloated and messy now 😉
 
There's a team working on a port of the stock note 2 kitkat rom for the i9300 but from what I've read a lot is still broken.
I doubt a port from the US s3 will ever be any good. Apparently we don't have enough ram to carry all that bloat.
Plenty of tasty aosp based kitkat roms.
If you want it very vanilla and not many features then I'd say cyanogenmod 11 :thumbup:
@saltire is ART ok on LS 3.0 mate? My wife was on the last version and had a lot of FCs apparently caused by ART so she switched to Validus 5.1 which is my recommendation for a full featured aosp type rom :thumbup:

No worries, I've flashed Neat ROM
 
Funky - don't know bud. Use Xposed so I can run Xprivacy pro licence cos I like the control over app permissions. So stuck with Dalvik on the phone. But am going to try ART on my N7 - you running grouper? What ROM/kernel?

Yeah grouper with Validus 5.1, Franco Kernel, ART. Battery life isn't fantastic but it FLIES mate :)

I flashed AOSP version, however it had way too many bugs that I didn't like e.g., snapchat didn't work, Hangouts and messaging app just crashed (has happened before) and facebook videos do not work. So I am back on 4.3 Original Touch Wiz (still rooted however). I will be looking for a Touch Wiz 4.4 version ROM for S3 if it's available. Does Neat ROM have Touch Wiz version 4.4?
 
My main reason for going to a 4.4 ROM was to get the coloured emojis. I had 2 good days of using iOS emojis, I guess now it's time to move back to the black and white ugly emojis :lol: until I find a good ROM 4.4 that I can flash or I can find a way to get coloured emojis on 4.3

Nah there are no function touchwiz 4.4 roms for our phone.
Did you clean flash aosp Neat Rom? And what gapps did you use and what bugs did you have?
Not sure if SwiftKey Beta keyboard is compatible with 4.3 but that has the full set of emoji from Google kitkat Keyboard 💨✌✌😯👍😸😞🍺💕😝🐓🍷🐢😤😼😈👎💁😇

Yes I clean flashed it and the gapps that were put in the link with the ROM. I came across various bugs, from top of my head, I remember snapchat didn't work (video problems), Hangouts and messaging app just crashed (has happened before on other Vanilla ROMS) and facebook videos didn't not work and a few others I can't remember.

I flashed 4.4 Neat ROM again. Can you help me with those problems ^, they still exist
 
Lol I'm in rom crisis too. Just flashed my 3rd tonight lol.
I'm thinking since you're getting all them bugs you should move what you can to sd card or pc and 'nuke" the phone (factory reset from within the phone's settings) :thumbup:.
I did that the other day and freed up 5gb of shit I'll never miss lol.
 
PS I prefer Banks Minimal Gapps. They basically contain all the behind the scenes stuff and Play store, that's it. Then you just get anything else like maps, Hangouts, g+ from Play :thumbup:

PS. Top tip. Always reboot straight after Booting a rom for the first time :thumbup:

The thing is, there is an update to my ROM (v5 of Slim Kat) I downloaded it and flashed it and the messaging bug was gone and I could text however the layout was so poor. The layout was a tablet one? I don't understand why. The font was extremely small (even with large) so I don't know maybe @Sale should look into it

Hey, I tried using the app, rebooted and nothing happened. I went and followed your guide but it didn't work either.

Firstly ES explorer said "root explorer feature isn't available for your device"

So I used ROM Browser and ES File Editor to change it however it won't let me save it? What do I do now? Help would be appreciated. Thanks

P.S it shows my DPI as 245 so that just shows how small it is
 
I think I've spotted the problem which is I have lost Root Access for some reason? I have tried to open different Root apps and they say could not get root access? What do I do now?

EDIT: I googled it and the error is common. I have fixed and it's working fine
 
How'd u fix it bro? I lost root when I flashed Omni yesterday and just flashed the SuperSU zip to get it back :thumbup:

I went into the About Phone and enabled Developer Options then went into Advanced and changed SuperSU settings from Apps and ADB to Disabled then back to Apps and ADB, opened Titanium Back up and voila...

I'm using 320 mate..

Just had two questions,

1) is it possible to change the multi tasking layout to the way it was before in Slim ROM?

2) Xposed Framework and Modules worked perfectly on the version before until I updated yesterday. Now I install the Framework then the Modules but they won't work? Any idea what I should do?
