Root [International] ADB Drivers

I want to get ADB working on my Windows 7 PC.

Which drivers do I need to install to get it working?

I downloaded Android SDK and it includes a Google USB driver. Is this the one I should install?

I'm on kitkat 4.4 if that makes a difference.

I'm doing this as a long-winded way of making my /system/bin folder writable so I can install xposed framework.

Do samsung drivers only work on sammy firmwares? Do I need different drivers if I'm on Cyanogenmod?

It won't do any harm but more likely than not you'll need the Samsund drivers, which you can get from here - Samsung Galaxy S3 Drivers | Drivers Download - I couldn't get my mouse to recognise the link but there is another under "Device (Install)" that says "or This Link" click on the word link and you should get the download confirmation. The driver package is ver.v1.5.14.0 and to answer your final question, no, you don't need different drivers for different firmware. The only time you need different drivers is if you changed to a non-Samsung phone, e.g. LG or Motorola etc.

Jerry from AC was talkin about how hard it is to use ADB on a windows machine because of the drivers in the last podcast mate. his solution.. use a lynux machine lol :)
